Silversmith's Educational Programme aides participants in the development of movement, devising and performance skills to support their own artistic and personal development. All educational work is inclusive and can be adapted to suit the needs of the group. Our ethos is to give participants space to learn and develop at their own pace, encouraging creative decision-making and the confidence to push boundaries.
Silversmith's educational work gives a strong basis of Performance and Movement skills for both Dance and Drama students. Our Creative and Devising projects also help participants to develop as creators who can take charge of their own artistic endeavours.
As with Silversmith's work, devising projects will be based on characters, narratives and themes of a human nature. This may involve current and social issues.
Creative Dance projects will be focused on creative movement and can explore a particular theme. These projects are especially good at supporting other Subject themes and help participants to gain and develop their life skills and creativity.
The following workshops/projects will give participants the opportunity to experience Silversmith's ways of working:
Choreographic & Devising Skills
An Introduction to Dance Theatre
Choreographic Performance Projects
