Silversmith can facilitate people; regardless of age, gender, culture, and ability, in creative and educational projects through workshops and/or devising and performing pieces. The company always strives for inclusion and creativity in all its educational work.
Dance Theatre is an extremely accessible art form. It comes from human and everyday movement, allowing participants to incorporate their own experiences into the work created. A focus on dance or theatre can be produced depending on the needs of each group.
Silversmith also offers workshops in introductory Butoh, Improvisation (incl. site-specific and contact), and the Collaboration between movement and music. A member of UK based Palestinian Dabke dance group Al-Zaytouna, Lorraine Smith can also organize workshops in traditional and contemporary fusions of this community orientated dance form.
I’d like to thank you for delivering dance theatre workshops at Varndean College, Brighton. The work you created for our two performances was wonderful and the students really benefitted from working with you. You worked in an open, professional and friendly manner and set exciting and diverse tasks for the students to respond to. I was impressed with how you then used their ideas and guided them through structuring their work. The result was two visually stunning pieces of work, which through your guidance, the students had ownership of. Thank you and please work with us again!
